(13.05.2002) Полный Текст Нефтегазовая отрасль стран Прикаспия на англ. языке Нефтегазовая отрасль стран Прикаспия на англ. языке *** BP as the operator on behalf of its partners in Shah Deniz Production Sharing Agreement (PSA) announces that as part of its work programme for Shah Deniz (SD) Stage-1 project, the Draft Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) Document has been produced and published by BP on behalf of Shah Deniz partners. The document examines the potential environmental and social impacts of the full Shah Deniz Stage-1 project activities, and describes the recommended mitigation measures. The Stage-1 draft ESIA follows on from the Early Civil Engineering Work Program ESIA, completed for both the ACG Phase-1 and SD Stage-1 projects, which was approved by the Azerbaijan Ministry for Environment and Natural Resources on 30th December 2001. There are four major components to the Stage-1 project, which are the: * assembly and installation of the offshore facilities; * drilling of production wells; * laying of subsea pipelines, and * addition of a gas and condensate reception facilities at Sangachal Terminal. The full document has been produced in English and Russian, while the Executive Summary is in Azerbaijani, English, and Russian. The Azerbaijani version of the full document will be issued in June, one month prior to its approval. The company BP is working out programmes to develop and improve living conditions of the population in the area of the Sanqacal terminal [south of Baku] and around the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan MEP [main export pipeline] and the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum gas pipeline (up to the Georgian border), the BP press service has told Turan. Social investments will be aimed at covering education in local schools and universities, upgrading the sewage system in villages and implementing micro-crediting projects to encourage local entrepreneurs. These programmes will focus on three directions - attracting a labour force for a long-term period, regulating revenues and use of energy sources, strengthening the main directions of BP policy and reporting to the public about them.
